Music
Christ Lutheran’s Music Program, along with being aligned to the mission and vision of the school, seeks to expose students to as many musical genres as possible while still remaining grounded in the classical musical approach. Students will not only learn to read musical notation, but to hear music and to play music as each child can. Often the focus on reading music loses the fun and innate love of music in us all; at Christ Lutheran students will discover that love for rhythm, melody, and harmony that makes music the only universal language.
Music is taught from Pre-School to 8th grade. Students will be instructed and participate in listening skill, musical notes and dynamics, instruments and instrumentation, music history and world music, eurhythmics and much more. Musical ensemble opportunities began in 1st grade: Christ Kids Choir, Recorders, Middle Grades Choir, Band, Handbells, and Chapel Praise Team – students have numerous opportunities to express their creative side, while learning to play and sing in harmony with one another and perform proficiently.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD! Psalm 98:4-6
